A Rich Texas History

El Cerrito Lodge

El Cerrito Lodge was established in 2014 on a family owned ranch. To date, the Stanley family owns and operates the wedding venue— which has become one of East Texas’ premier places to host any kind of event. El Cerrito Lodge boasts all of East Texas’ beauty from sprawling pastures, to incredible sunsets, this venue is the perfect place for families, and friends to create lasting memories they will cherish forever.

As a wedding venue we offer the ability to have your wedding day any month of the year with our heated and cooled great room. It also lends itself to a great “Plan B'“ for those outdoor ceremonies that weather moves to indoors at the last minute. Our ranch style wedding venue needs little in the way of added décor, but can also be turned into a more formal setting with a few touches of drapery. We would love for you to build your dream wedding with us!

hey y'all! We're The Stanleys

Alice and Monty Stanley are both East Texas natives, and have called Longview home for the last 30 years. They raised their 3 grown sons in Longview and they all enjoy spending time at El Cerrito Lodge when together. The Stanley Family also run cattle and have a white tail deer operation. The wedding venue has become something that they have enjoyed building and sharing with others in the East Texas area.

El Cerrito's Story

El Cerrito is Spanish for The Hill. In 2015 The building was designed and built by the owners Monty and Alice Stanley as a hunting lodge that sits atop a hill. Originally laid out for hunting, the design quickly shifted towards hosting events. The first event was booked and it has hosted hundreds of weddings and events ever since.

Parts of the ranch include a great grandfather’s homestead in the late 1800s. Adjoining land was added through the years by grandparents, parents and ourselves. We named the portion where the lodge sits The Walking 18 Ranch. All three of our sons worked on the ranch growing up , attended school and played baseball in Longview. Number 18 was worn by our sons as Lobo baseball players. Our middle son Tato, was paralyzed in a snowboarding accident when he was 17. He began “Walking” at age of “18”!
